Maize

Cassava/Maize Farming

Cassava is a basic staple food to more than 70% of Nigerian population and consumed at least once every day. Nearly 1 million tones of cassava and cassava waste required annually.

Equally cassava is the most widely consumed staple food in Nigeria and West Africa. Its flour can be used in composite flour (10% substitution for wheat flour) without significant change in the quality of the final products.

The Federal Government’s policy for 10% substitution requires 300,000 metric tons of cassava and 1.34 million metric tons of cassava is required for composite flour. As a result, this makes cassava farming a wise and viable idea.

In lieu of the above, we have commenced a fifty (50) acre mechanized cassava/maize farming project at Otiri village in Iseyin Local Government, Oyo State, Nigeria.
